What use is a spiritual mentor if you're an empty vessel ?
It's not seeping into my bones like it used to and I want it back.
And why I don't go. I wouldn't go back, but I'm not going to lie: I think about the old days and there are certain things I still want that I can't have.
I’ve known a fair share of rabbis in my day, from all stripes and denominations. It’s definitely a mixed bag.
You cannot erase the inherent, irreplaceable bond that exists between Jew and Jew, Jew and Land, Jew and Soul by willing it so.It is that love that fertilizes the Holy Land, that binds us forever to each other and to that earth .
Sometimes, it seems like there's no before or after.
On transformation - and the space in between all the stops along the way.
And so, I thank you, Jews, every single one of you...When I pray, you’re in it with me, joining me in that most vulnerable mission. Whether you’re in synagogue with me, or at another one miles away, or in a different time zone, or still asleep, I have to believe we are connected.
