A Half Day

There is a radiator.  There is  an iron.  And a clothes basket.
It’s a half day and I’m home early
There will be time this afternoon for both of us.
You never forgot me mother but I forgot you.

It’s a half day and I’m home early;
I don’t know which is harder, to ask or know
you never forgot me mother but I forgot you
A patch of light – the January sun.

I don’t know which is harder, to ask or know
there will be time this afternoon for both of us,
a patch of light – the January sun
There is a radiator. There is an iron.   And a clothes basket.
