Neshamas Challenge Perceptions

This week was a revealing week on Neshamas.  Many of our writers shared stories about how assumptions and reality are often very different.

In My Daughter, My Secret a well-known woman in the frum community divulges that she gave birth to a baby in secret.  She talks about the pain of not being with her baby and of having to hide such an important part of herself.

In So, Now What a Neshama describes how her long quest to convert to Judaism culminated in disappointment as she struggles to find a husband who wants to be with a convert.

In What You See a Neshama who is perceived as being successful and happy tells of the pain she has kept hidden her whole life after being abused by three of her brothers as a child.
